Day 1

Arrival and sightseeing in Paro 2, 250 m / 7,382 feet

Max Altitude: 2,250m (7,381ft)

Reach Paro at Bhutan International Airport via respective airlines from your last and previous port of call, on arrival at Paro airport complete immigration and visa formalities and then you will be received by our native guide for short transfer to your hotel in Paro, with afternoon free for leisure walks around the streets and market of Paro.

Day 2

Paro to Thimphu (2,320 m /7,610 ft): hike to Taktsang Monastery then drive to Thimphu: 54 km, 2 hour drive

Max Altitude: 2,320m (7,611ft)

Tour begins after breakfast, guide takes you for an hour climb to Bhutan’s famous old Taksang Monastery “The Tiger's Nest”. Actually a place for meditation and retreats of monks and priests, located on high overhanging rock cliff facing grand views of Paro valley and distant mountain range, from here downhill with short drive to 17th century Ta-Dzong.

On completing tour of Paro, depart from the hotel in Paro for afternoon scenic drive of few hours to reach at Thimphu, capital city of Bhutan, an interesting drive that takes you through lovely countryside dotted by farm villages enriched with interesting Buddhist monuments.

On arrival at Thimphu transfer to respective hotels, Thimphu a semi-modern city of Bhutan where all traffic is still controlled by traffic police with a whistle.

Day 3

Sightseeing in Thimphu

Max Altitude: 2,320m (7,611ft)

Morning after breakfast our local Bhutanese guide will take you around Thimphu memorial stupas, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced and traditional painting school.

Tour includes traditional Hand Made Paper Mill, School of Arts and Crafts where students learns 13 different ways of arts used predominantly in Bhutan.

Here visit Folk Heritage Museum, National Library and Traditional Institute of Medicine. Drive to the Zilukha nunnery where you can interact with nuns.

Tour extends to Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple of valley with short scenic drive to large and recently built Buddha statue, with wonderful view of entire Thimphu valley, after an interesting tour return back to hotel with afternoon free for individual activities.

Day 4

Drive to Paro and flight to Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,264 ft), obtain Chinese visa and Tibet entry permits, with half day tour

Morning drive back to Paro with few stops for a visit of 1927-29 AD fort, built by King Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified the Kingdom of Bhutan, after a nice good drive back at Paro.

Depending upon flight time to Kathmandu our guide transfer you to Paro international airport for the flight to reach Nepal in Kathmandu, during air enjoy fantastic views of Himalayan range of peaks, on reaching Kathmandu and Nepal International airport.

From the airport meet our staff for transfer to your hotel with half day tour around Old Durbar Square within ancient palace and royal courtyard of great historical interest, rest of the afternoon for individual activities and to obtain Tibet Entry visa and permits.

Day 5

Sightseeing of Patan, Swayambhunath, Bauddha, and Pashupatinath

Full day tour of Kathmandu visit takes you around great historical and cultural sites of great interest, tour takes you to famous old Swayambhunath a Buddhist Stupa, located on a green hill top, where one can enjoy full panorama of Kathmandu city.

Day 6

Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3, 650 m /11,972 feet)

Max Altitude: 3,650m (11,975ft)

Morning as per flight time for Lhasa flight transfer to Kathmandu airport for scenic flight of an hour or more to land at Tibet international airport near to Lhasa.

After going through security and immigration check and then exit out of air terminal where our Tibetan guide and driver will receives you for short drive in the heart of Lhasa city, within local areas populated by Tibetans.

Afternoon relax and take a short walk around Barkhor market square where most of the hotels are located.

Day 7

Lhasa sightseeing: Potala Palace, Norbulingkha Palace and Tibet Traditional Hospital.

Max Altitude: 3,650m (11,975ft)

Full day tour of Lhasa around exciting and impressive sites of great interest, where tour starts with magnificent Potala Palace the landmark of Tibet, built early 640 AD. Originally a meditation cave of famous king Songs Tsen Gampo where Potala Palace was constructed.

After an impressive tour of Potala a winter palace from 5th Dalai Lama onward to 14th Dalai Lama, from here visit Norbulingkha a summer palace of late 12th and present 14th Dalai Lama (who is in exile since 1960’s).

Day 8

Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar.

Morning tour take you west of Lhasa city at Drepung Monastery, the largest and important monastery in Tibet, built as a university for Tibetan Buddhism scholar in earlier days, which was also a home of till 5th Dalai Lama before Potala Palace was built.

After Drepung, tour of Jokhang Temple which is another interesting monastery and first Buddhist temple it boasts historic importance and tales of old days.

Final departure to respective destinations

For flying back to Nepal as per flight time for Kathmandu drive early by 7 a.m. Beijing Standard Time which is 2 hrs 15 mins ahead than Nepal Standard Time.

Best Seasons for Visit Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet.

The best time is from March to May with September to early November months, March to May during spring with longer sunlight hours where most days are clear from morning till late afternoon can get cloudy sometimes with a chance of snows around higher elevation cold in the morning and night time.

September to November during autumn/fall days with crystal clear from morning till mid-afternoon, but days are shorter with sunlight hours, much cold with freezing temperatures in the morning and night as well in shades.

Climate and Weather.

Himalayan climate can be unpredictable sometimes even in good best seasons, where April and May to the first week of June will be the best time during spring times when days are longer with enough sunlight hours.

Morning and night time as well in shade can be cold and much freezing temperatures around high hills.

Other best months during September and October great times for tours when most days are clear for views, although much colder months of the autumn season with an extreme cold during morning and night time, where sunlight is much shorter.

Visa Information.

Visiting Nepal, Bhutan one can obtain an entry visa from your home country at Nepalese Embassies and Consulates, if not one can easily get a visa on arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, or any port of entry.

For Bhutan where you can obtain a visa after booking with us and sending your Passport details, and for a Tibet Entry Visa one needs to send us Passport details at least two weeks ahead before tour departure for Lhasa, Tibet while in Kathmandu, where we require your original passport to obtain necessary visa and permits.
