11 days Annapurna Panorama Trekking begins with the exploration of ancient heritages and famous sites that carry with themselves the reflection of richness in Nepalese arts and architectures. Trek to the foothills of Annapurna Range begins with a drive to the settlement of Nayapool and follow up to the confluence of Bhurungdi and Modi Rivers and several settlements. Encountering the grueling stone staircase, getting amazed at the beauty of the forest decorated with varieties of flowers blossoming with full beauty and interacting with the warm welcome of locals we head further in our trek. Best Seasons for Annapurna Panorama Trekking

Best time from March to May in spring season with September till December months during autumn and pre-winter season.

March to May much longer sunlight hours where green hills are bright and beautiful with wild flowers in full blooming times, especially rhododendron of various species, make the trek more interesting and very special.

Most days are clear from morning till late afternoon, can get cloudy sometimes with chance of snows around higher elevation cold in the morning and night time (not adding extra wind-chill factors).

Mid-September to December during autumn/fall season most days are crystal clear from morning till mid-afternoon, days are shorter and as well sunlight hours, much cold with freezing temperatures in the morning and night as well in shades above 1,800 m high chances of snow on walks.

Climate and Weather Annapurna Panorama Trekking.

Himalayan climate can be unpredictable sometimes even in good best seasons, where April and May to first week of June will be the best time during spring times, when days are longer with enough sunlight hours.

Morning and night time as well in shade can be cold and much freezing temperatures around higher areas above 2,000m.

Other months from September to mid-December another great times for Annapurna Panorama Trekking and other areas of Himalaya, when days are clear for views and to summit the top of the peak, although much colder months of autumn season with extreme cold during morning and night time, where sunlight is much shorter.

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m/4430ft)

Your journey in Nepal begins today. Our office representative will be at the Tribhuwan International Airport with a signboard displaying name of our company along with your name outside the airport terminal to welcome you. You shall then be transferred to the hotel of your stay in a private vehicle. With the remaining day at your disposal, if you arrive earlier you may stroll around the streets of Kathmandu. Explore the area during the day and in the evening savor the cultural dinner. Stay overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Full day in Kathmandu with city tours/Trekking preparation day

Today you shall have the sightseeing of this culturally rich valley of Kathmandu as well as the preparation of the trek that begins from the next day. In our city tour in a private vehicle, we shall be exploring the medieval era and older heritages; almost all of these are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site List and some of them are the world famous pilgrimage sites. We have in list the famous Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, a temple located at the bank of holy Bagmati River, the stupas of Swayambhunath (a 14th century stupa, also known as Monkey Temple) and the Boudhanath Stupa (arguably the biggest stupas of its kind with several smaller Buddhist architectures), and probably the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu and Patan (a complex with royal palace, temples and other ancient heritages). Later in the afternoon, we shall have a pre-trip meeting with the trekking guide in the hotel. Bring with you the insurance policy of yours and other necessary documents. Day 3

Kathmandu-Pokhara (820m/2690ft) about 7 hrs drive

After exploring the culturally rich cites in Kathmandu valley, we shall head for the beautiful Pokhara valley which is the start point of this trek. We shall leave early in the morning for Pokhara after you being picked up by your guide and transferred to the tourist vehicle. We drive on the winding road along the torrential rivers and past the waterfalls, rural settlements, glimpses of the mountains to the far which comes closer as we approach the destination. You will be welcomed by the Fishtail Mountain and many other sibling peaks as you reach Pokhara. Drive to the Lakeside of Pokhara along with our representative who shall be picking you up from the Pokhara Bus Park and taking you to the hotel of your stay. Explore the scenic and ever buzzing Lakeside in a walking tour around the beautiful Phewa Lake. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Note: You can also have a scenic flight to Pokhara which is of around 35min and takes you over vast landscapes, lush valleys and hills, and with a close-up view of the majestic Himalayas.

Day 4

Pokhara – Nayapul – Tikhedhunga (1570m/5150ft) about 2 hrs drives and 3-4 hrs walks

This day marks the beginning of our trekking in the breathtaking Annapurna region after a drive to the starting point in the settlement of Nayapul. In a drive of around 2 hours from Pokhara, we shall drive past rural landscape, famous Bindhyabasini temple, Tibetan refugee camp, and settlements with great scenery from Naudanda, Kanre, Lumle Bagar, Hemja, Phedi and others before reaching our starting point of Nayapul. En route the views of snow-capped mountains are always a treat to the travelers. After a short trek from Nayapul we reach to the settlement of Birethanti located at the confluence of Modi River and Bhurungdi River. Trekking upstream along the Bhurungdi River we start with the sub-tropical forest and pass through the bamboo and rhododendron forest, beautiful waterfalls and swimming fissure, and several small settlements as we ascend up the side of the valley to the village of Tikhedhunga. This entire walk shall be of around 4 hours. Stay overnight at a teahouse in Tikhedhunga.

Day 5

Tikhedhunga-Ulleri-Ghorepani (2780m/9121ft) 5-6 hrs walks

The first settlement in this section of the trek is the village of Ulleri to reach which we shall have a steep trek for a couple of hours along the stone steps and later rather a gentle trek as we approach Ulleri. Once you find a rhythm ascending trail on stone steps shouldn’t be much of a problem. Ahead in the trek we walk past the small settlement of Phultise, a Magar village, good view of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, and a crossing over Bhurungdi River before we reach another settlement of Banthati. The trek continues along the river as we keep moving ahead past the waterfalls, lush hills, valleys, cool shade of pine and rhododendron trees in the section of today’s trek which is rather a gradual trail as we reach the destination for today, the village of Ghorepani. This is an ancient stoppage for traders who used this place to feed their horses with water, leading this village within the Annapurna Conservation Area to give its name. We have the view Annapurna range from Ghorepani. Overnight Stay at Tea houses in Ghorepani.

Day 6

Ghorepani-Tadapani (2660m/8727ft) 4-5 hrs walks

Today you shall have a morning like never before as you shall have the most beautiful sunrise from the famous Poonhill to start the day with. Poon hill is derived as a hill from the ethnical group called as Poon, residents of Ghorepani and around area. Rising up earlier before the sun rises, we leave to the Poonhill armed with some lighting in hand and excitement in mind. A trek of around an hour takes you to the Poonhill and after securing ourselves a perfect spot for the view we wait for the sun to rise. Beginning with the silhouette of mountains, with each passing minute, we shall have the view of hills, gorges, crevasses and villages before the view of sun painting the mountain range with its golden rays. We have the tantalizing view of stunning mountains from west Dhaulagiri, Annapurna ranges, unique mountain Mt. Fishtail following the alluring view of Manaslu to Ganesh Himal to the east ranges of mountains. After capturing memories in the hill, we trek down to have a lunch and head forward to Tadapani which is our destination for today. Through the forests hosting the rhododendron, pine and bamboos all along the trail with short up and down, we reach the village of Tadapani. We shall be having our lunch in the teahouses along the route. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

Day 7

Tadapani – Ghandruk (1990m/6529ft) 3-4 hrs walk

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We start our trek from Tadapani with the steep descent off the village through the dense forest decorated with the rhododendron trees, small streams, and creeks. When the trees blossoms in its full allure, the beauty is breathtaking as the forest is decorated with red and pink flowers. Other natural scenery including the blossoming cherries, depending upon the season of the trek, on the other side of the gorge on a slope is seen. Ascending to the heights Kamrong hill, we then trek down in a trail traversing through the forest and reach the settlement of Ghandruk. This village of Ghandruk is known for the fearsome soldiers joining the British and Indian armies. We also have the view of mountains including the Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna range, Hiuchuli mountains and Glacier dome beside uniquely arranged houses and the Gurung museum that provides us with the insight into the rich culture of Gurung community. We shall explore this semi-modern settlement of this trail before we have an overnight stay in Ghandruk.

Day 8

Ghandruk – Pothana (1910m/6266ft), 5-6 hrs

Max Altitude: 1,910m (6,266ft)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge/Guest House

In this section of our trek, we shall have a number of ups and downs till we reach Pothana. Starting our trek we shall descent to the Modi River in a trail that is rather a steep downhill to the river. Crossing the river we have a march upward to the Landruk village, a village inhabited by mostly the Gurung community and few Brahmins also. The trek continues on a gradual descent through the terraced landscape and few settlements, crossing over a suspension bridge and traversing to the settlement of Tolka. Continuing ahead in the trail we pass through the stone steps, prayer flags and view of the mountains including the Annapurna South and Hiuchuli Mountain as we have a steep climb up to the settlement of Deurali. Deurali provides breathtaking view of Pokhara valley including Fewa Lake, spectacular Himalayan scenery of Annapurna south, the right flank of Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri mountain, the highest mountain in the westerner Nepal. (8167m). After the settlement of Deurali we have a trail that descends downwards through the forest with oats and various others vegetation, splendid view of the mountains such as Manaslu, Mardi Himal and Annapurna ranges and lush vegetation to reach the settlement of Pothana. We stay overnight in teahouses in Pothana.

Day 9

Pothana – Phedi- Pokhara (910m/ 2986ft), 3-4 hrs trek and 40 min drive

Max Altitude: 910m (2,985ft)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: 3 Star Hotel

In the last section of trekking in this trekking expedition, we shall leave the beautiful village of Pothana and head for Phedi from where we shall have a drive to Pokhara. Leaving the scenery of Pothana surrounded by forests and marvelous mountain views, we trek through dense forest and trek through the Australian camp and other small settlement to reach the famous village of Dhampus in a downhill trek. Dhampus is famous for the well-preserved culture of Gurung community and magnificent view of the lofty mountain peaks including the Annapurna ranges, Manaslu peak and Hiuchuli Peak. From Dhampus the trail descends all the way to the settlement of Phedi through the forest with varieties of flora and fauna. After reaching Phedi we take on a private vehicle for a drive of around 40 minutes to reach the destination for today, the beautiful Pokhara city. If time remains and you are interested to have a stroll around the Lakeside. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 10

Drive to Kathmandu about (1350m/4430ft) 7 hrs drive

After an exciting trek in the culturally rich and scenically diverse trek in the Annapurna region and having a well-deserved rest in the marvelous Pokhara city, we shall be heading for the Kathmandu valley to end this trekking journey. In a journey of around 7 hours, we shall drive past the mountain views, terraced fields with cultivation of various crops, marvelous landscape and sceneries, settlements along the highway including Damauli, Dumre,, Muglin and others. We also drive past Muglin, a village that has cable car operated to lead people to the famous Manakamana Temple dedicated to Goddess Manakamana who is believed to grant wishes to her devotees. Interacting with the locals and being accompanied by torrential Marshyandgi and Tishuli Rivers we reach Naubise an up to Thankot, the gateway to Kathmandu. Reaching Kathmandu, you shall be escorted to the hotel for our stay. Later in the afternoon, you may also go for souvenir shopping or just saunter around the streets of Thamel.  Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Note: You can fly to Kathmandu which takes 35min in a scenic flight that takes you over the  mesmerizing scenery of snow-capped mountains, lush hills and valleys and beautiful landscape.

Day 11

Final Departure

The trip concludes today. After a hearty breakfast, we shall transfer you to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your flight to your onward destination. Annapurna Panorama Trekking - 11 Days Equipments

If you are preparing for a high-altitude Himalayan adventure in Nepal, there is always some confusion about what to pack. It is essential to carry the right gear and equipment for a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience. All trekkers should properly pack and carry all the essential items. 

However, overpacking is another common mistake that can make the journey tiring. So here is a carefully crafted packing list that includes everything you need. From general items, cloth layers, headgear, footwear, to accessories and first aid, the list consists of light and smart packing items for every challenging mountain condition.

Note: You do not need to bring all the items mentioned below to Nepal. There are several trekking shops in Kathmandu or Pokhara where you can buy or rent high-quality gear at a reasonable price. So, feel free to pack light and purchase or rent any missing items after your arrival in Nepal. Also, members from Trekking Planner Nepal Pvt. Ltd. can also guide and assist you to find the best deals in gear and equipment in Thamel, Kathmandu.

What Does the Company Provide?

  • We give you a free duffel bag (must return), buffs, trekking cap, trekking map, and t-shirt during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The duffel bag will be used to pack your trekking supplies.

  • For every two participants, we assign one porter. The porter will carry the duffel bag, which should weigh around 10 kg/22 lbs., throughout the walk.

  • We can provide a down jacket for USD 35. In case of loss or damage, you need to pay back the cost of USD 100 per item.

  • We can provide a sleeping bag for USD 35. In case of loss or damage, USD 100 per item must be paid.

  • You can safely store your extra luggage (items not required on the trek) at the hotel in Kathmandu. Our team can happily assist and help.

  • Total luggage for the Kathmandu-Lukla flight is (15 kg/33 lbs.), including duffel (10 Kg/22 lbs.) and backpack (5 kg/11 lbs.).

  • We provide a free Nepal SIM card (Ncell) to all our trekkers during the pre-trip briefing in Kathmandu. Data packages can be purchased at an additional cost.
