How does the Royal Trekking Start and End?

Royal Trek is one of the most famous and easiest treks in the Annapurna Region. The trek has been named the Royal Trek as Britain’s Prince Charles Walked it in the 1980s. This short trek around the Annapurna region follows a shrub-like path along the foothills of Annapurna, north of the Pokhara Valley. From there we start our trek with a bus ride to Bijaypur, off the main trekking route of Annapurna Region, conquering the height of 1,730m, and finishes 5 km away from Pokhara. This trek gives you an amazing experience throughout the whole route as it gives you an experience learning how must escape from the poverty of the generation and keep them alive. The Annapurna Skyline Royal Trekking route passes through forests, terraced farmlands, amazing turquoise lakes, and the beautiful settlement of Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, and Magar communities offering the experience of their mixed culture and lifestyle that has remained unchanged for years.

Begnas Lake is the ending point of the royal hiking in the Annapurna Region. The regions are so unspoiled as to have no tea houses, and we will need to camp. As you hike the terraced farmlands your eyes behold the magnificent Annapurna Range, Machapuchare [fishtail peak], and the Langtang Mountains that give you a view of nature’s beauty at its best. The trip ends with a 7-hour bus ride to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Royal Trek is basically recommended for beginners or those who have very limited time but yet looking for an opportunity to squeeze in an experience of a trekking holiday in the Himalayas.

Essential Information

What is the Best Time/Season for Royal Trekking in Nepal?

The optimum time for Royal Trekking depends on a variety of criteria, including personal preferences, itinerary length, peak and off-peak seasons, activities of interest, budget, and accessibility along the way. Keeping all of these things in mind, it is ideal for travelers to choose what is most important.

The spring season (March to May) is often regarded as the best time to go on the Royal Trek in Nepal. During this time, the trekking experience reaches its pinnacle. The weather is spectacular, with temperate temperatures and brilliant, sun-drenched skies. The dense rhododendron forests that carpet the walking route undergo a stunning makeover, bursting to life with vivid blooms, producing a mesmerizing and beautiful natural tapestry. Springtime draws wildlife out of their winter dens, providing enthusiasts with abundant opportunities to view a broad assortment of creatures and birds among the revitalized vegetation. Furthermore, the Himalayan peaks, such as the famed Annapurna South and the magnificent Lamjung Himal Range, provide trekkers with unequaled, crystal-clear vistas that are just amazing.

Similarly, autumn (September to November) is a fantastic time for Royal Trekking. Nature's palette paints the countryside with beauty and charm once more. The weather is consistent, with temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold, making it a great time to embark on your hiking expedition. Trails that are well-defined and free of barriers such as monsoon rains or snowfall ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. Furthermore, the majestic mountain peaks and surrounding landscapes are shown with extraordinary clarity in fall, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the grandeur of the Himalayas and appreciate the region's splendor. Whether you prefer the brilliant blossoms of spring or the clear vistas of autumn, both seasons provide an unforgettable Royal Trek experience in Nepal.

Both spring and fall have their own distinct charms, and which you prefer is primarily determined by your personal preferences. Spring is the season to consider if you enjoy flowering rhododendrons and lush vegetation. Autumn, on the other hand, is a fantastic choice if you prefer clear mountain views and pleasant temperatures.

Winter (December to February) can be rather cold, and the paths may be snow-covered at higher elevations, making Royal Trekking less popular. Similarly, the monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rain and leeches, making trekking less fun and more difficult.

It is vital to properly arrange your trip, schedule hotels, and receive a weather forecast before embarking on the Royal Trekking. Any questions or concerns concerning the tour can be addressed by a Trekking Planner Nepal professional who will accompany you on the excursion.
