Excellent Company, Fabulous guides and an Awesome trek- Highly recommended

I trekked to Everest base camp with trekking planner a month ago and they made sure that I had an experience of a lifetime. Right from the start, Dipak made the booking process extremely easy and promptly answered all my questions regarding packing and trek. They also took care of all logistics in Kathmandu and arranged a day tour with a well-informed guide. Sudip from trekking planer was an excellent host and took me to a wonderful cultural show.

On the trek, I was helped by Suman Dhakal and Geylu Sherpa. They both were well informed about the nuances of the trek and also of history and culture of people living in the mountains. Above all, they both were super-friendly and in just one day it started to feel like I was hiking with buddies rather than with a tour company. Fourteen days of the trek was an absolute blast with them. I highly recommend trekking with them if they are available. They also took care of safety on the trek and were well equipped to handle medical issues. They were also flexible with trek schedule and found the best places to stay on the trek.

I highly recommend trekking planner for Everest base camp and other treks in Nepal region. And many thanks to Suman and Geylu for such a wonderful company on the trek.

    Excellent holiday - thoroughly recommended!

We did the Everest Base Camp trek in April 2019 together with a safari in Chitwan National Park when we returned from trekking. The holiday exceeded expectations from start to finish. Dipak met us at the start and was a constant feature throughout. He was great, very quick to respond and an excellent organiser. The trek was fabulous (no issues whatsoever) and the safari was luxury! Dipak organised hotels in Kathmandu in between which were also of excellent quality. We have nothing bad to say. Excellent trip.

    Beyond expectations!

My wife and I did the Everest Base camp short trip in April, 2019. What a great trip! I say this despite the fact that on several key times we had to go to plan B due to weather conditions, etc. First of all, from the very beginning Dipak, the leader of Trekking Planner showed real attention to detail and in promptly answering all of our Qs. All the expectations from the brochure were not only met but we felt were exceeded. Starting with a several hour delay getting thru the airport in Kathmandu, their team was still there to take us our hotel which trekking had arranged-not 5 star but quite nice and centrally located in the city and trekking cultural take off point. Due to construction at the airport (and poor weather) we were given the option of getting to the trekking take off point (Lukla) by helicopter. We opted for this knowing it would add another $600/pp roundtrip but would keep us on schedule. The conditions were so bad that the copter landed about 45 minutes from Lukla but the Trekking Planner guide and porter did find their way and away we went. From then on it was the 2 of us plus the guide, Dhirendra and the porter. What a great team! It is doubtful Dhirendra doesn't know everyone in the tea house cuiture all the way to the top! He proved resourceful and personally quite helpful (helped my wife navigated suspension bridges and at time even took my own day pack to help me make it along the way.). At another point when the tea houses of one location were totally filled he took is a little further and we ended up with a place with a hot shower! To top it off he was very personable and joy to be around which considering how long you are together is so important. Due to physical reasons we needed a helicopter evacuation at the last point. Trekking Planner was able to arrange that as well. On the practical side given the unknowns being able to flex financially is important on this trip. In addition, we took along cold medicine and anti-diarreah meds both of which came in handy. Also be prepared physically. I joked with our guide that there must not be a word in the Nepali language for "swithch-back". So much seemed to be at a 45 degree angel straight up. Still, the beauty of the surrounding did more to take your breath away. Since we were off the trek a couple of days early, Dipak was able to suggest several tours including a couple day visit to the Chitwan national park to view rhinos, elephants, etc. Overall, in addition to doing great on what was stated in the broacher, they were quite good at arranging other tours and even throwing in the unexpected (massage at the end!). Very easy to work with and great attention to detail. Highly recommended.

    Enlightening Experience

Dipak (our organizer) is an experienced, proactive, detail-oriented professional. He helped me significantly with a short 3 day trip to Annapurna (with both the drive to Pokhara and the flight back). Most importantly, he helped me organize the entire 12 day trip to base camp Mt. Everest, with an excellent guide, and with very authentic accommodations. At my return, the hotel where I stayed misplaced my luggage (a truly difficult experience). Dipak went an extra mile, and stayed with me for nearly entire day, until my luggage was eventually found.

    Annapurna Base Camp Trek

I went to Nepal in April and all my trip was organized by Trekking Planner. They answered all my questions immediately before the trip and provided very useful information. When I got to Kathmandu, Trekking Planner was waiting me at the airport and the staff was very kind. I had ten days trekking in Annapurna. My guide, Ramesh was very experienced. He was very kind and positive during the whole trekking that gave me so much energy and made my trip a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend him as a guide for any trek. Everything was very well organized!

    Trekking EBC, Chitwan and Pokhara

As soon as I landed trekking planner met me and took me to the hotel they booked for me. Every part of my trip was brilliantly organised from the pre trekking meal to the safari in Chitwan. Trekking planner organised everything at a great price and made my trip to Nepal unforgettable. We were unfortunate not to make it to EBC due to bad weather which can’t be helped but my trip was still worth it as they altered my trek back getting to visit different towns and enjoy the incredible views of the himilayas.

Big Thankyou to trekking planner for making my Nepal trip and for a great start to my solo travels.

    Awesome Trekking Planner

My wife and I went with Trekking Planner for our Everest Base Camp trek. If you’re thinking about trekking in Nepal, you can’t go wrong with Trekking Planner. Fantastic company!

Even before we went, making contact was quick and easy. Dipak, the boss, contacted us via email and WhatsApp; which allowed us to chat freely at any time. He was very responsive to any queries, which made planning the trip much easier (e.g. what would happen on the ground in Nepal, what we needed or didn’t need, etc). He also personally met with us each day we were in Kathmandu to ensure any needs were met. All trekking planner staff were friendly and helpful and one of them, Suman, helped us out with getting final supplies, groceries, SIM card, etc around town.

On the trek, our guide, Ananta, was awesome; knowledgeable about the route and himself passionate about trekking. He was not interested in simply paying lip service and more invested in making sure we had a safe and maximally fulfilling experience. He listened to what we wanted to get out of the trip and was very honest about what was or wasn’t possible according to weather and our own pace.

In the end, he managed to get two city dwellers with average fitness, zero experience of high altitude, and zero training... in the middle of winter, through snowstorm and high winds... all the way to Everest Base Camp and back! Along the way, we had laughs, breathtaking moments of natural beauty, and even learned how to sing a Nepali song.

Special mention to our porter who took the initiative to double back and look for us once when the snow and wind got real bad, and then stuck with us to ensure our safety. (Porters often don’t travel alongside small groups, and will push on ahead so they get to the next location first and have your stuff waiting for you).

Highly recommend these guys for any trekking journey or little tours around Nepal, not just for EBC. We also had a couple of days in Chitwan for a fun safari. Our Kathmandu day tour guide, Sudendra, was also particularly good and made the city’s cultural tourist attractions really come to life.

As a real special treat, we even got invited to one of Nepal’s “Party Palaces” for a celebration for Dipak’s own son and daughter. That was a fantastic way to glimpse some real local custom and culture!

In future, we may return to Nepal to try a different trekking route; and if we do, we will definitely be contacting Dipak and Ananta again.

Lumba Sumba Pass and Around Manasalu Trek with Trekking Planner Nepal

Last October, I used Trekking Planner Nepal to organize my trek from Kanchenjunga to Makalu Basecamp over the Lumba Sumba pass. I had such a great time that I booked another trek with Trekking Planner, walking from Tsum Valley, around Manasalu to the villages of Nar and Phu. This was a really big trip for me, before leaving for Nepal, I spent a lot of time researching and emailing many different trekking companies. Out of the companies I reached out to, the owner Dipak offered me the best price, and the best customer service, promptly and patiently taking the time to answer my numerous emails . In Kathmandu, Dipak couldn't have been nicer, he picked me up at the airport, took me out to dinner, organized all my permits and logistics and provided me with a great trekking crew. He's the guy you want to organize your trek in Nepal. My guide for both treks was Dhirendra Kharka, and he was awesome. He's a great choice as a guide, especially if you want to trek somewhere off the beaten path. We spent almost 60 days in the mountains together on a couple of long, challenging treks. He was great company, as well as being extremely skilled and competent in the mountains. I would recommend Trekking Planner to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal. I am attempting to section hike the Great Himalaya trail and I am planning on working with both Dipak and Dhirendra when I return to Nepal.
